One small website improvement you can make today

Attention spans have shrunk - again.

Social media algorithms and constant notifications are chipping away at our focus.

Most people skim a website and leave within 10-15 seconds.

And on mobile, 50-7% never make it below the fold (the part of the page you see before you scroll).

You have seconds to convince visitors to stay.

Here are some simple tweaks you can implement right away to improve your website performance:

  • Put your most important info in the first 100–150 pixels — that tiny strip at the very top of your site.

  • Lead with a bold headline or a strong opening sentence.

  • Make sure your hero section grabs attention and offers just enough info to spark interest.

  • Keep everything scannable: use subheadings, bold text, and imagery.

  • Break info into bite-sized chunks and highlight key features, services, and benefits.

If you want to go a step further, you can also:

  • Add a “See more” button

  • Add a floating scroll prompt

  • Add subtle scroll-triggered animations to encourage movement down the page

Take 30 seconds to look at your website: Is the important stuff visible immediately, or do you have to scroll to find it?
